The idea and concept of the first museum owned by BMW architect Karl Shvantseru (Karl Schwanzer). Building-cup, built in Munich Germany in 1973, he was seen as an extension of the leading roads to it - the same rush of speed and enclosed in a confined space. The author tried to create a motion effect to museum visitors on a straight road, with squares, platforms, connected by junctions, on either side. At the time of its inception, the Museum was the first BMW automobile museum in Gremanii. In its present form, the Museum consists of two buildings, called simply "low" and "round". Legendary "round" building adjacent to the symbol group.
Tower headquarters BMW, looks like a 4 cylinder engine. Through the last major reconstruction, modern architects have tried to keep the idea of Professor Shvantsera, and send visitors on a journey through a semi-suspended from the transitions of the last group - in its future. In 2002, began developing a plan to expand the museum, and in 2004 an extension to the "cup" the exhibition area has increased five times, allowing the host within 25 individual exhibits hundreds of unique exhibits.
